The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including for such purposes initiatives related to prevention of morbidity and mortality from severe mental illness and the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations within the meaning of Section 50 1 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (or the corresponding provisions of any future United States Internal Revenue Law), as well as any lawful purpose, as authorized by Pennsylvania law.
Nonprofit mission: The nonprofit corporation is formed exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes related to the prevention of morbidity and mortality from severe mental illness.
Mission statement: Panomics Mental Health Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of morbidity and mortality from severe mental illness through education, research, and increasing access to care.
Activities related to Education PMHI will drive awareness of the latest advances in severe mental illness research and treatments. PMHI will educate physicians on the scientific and clinical advances related to the metabolic and genetic conditions contributing to treatment refractory psychiatric illness. PMHI will also offer physician training on the testing, treatment, and follow-up of patients.
Activities related to Research PMHI is dedicated to identifying the underlying biologic, metabolic and genetic conditions contributing to treatment refractory psychiatric illness, to advancing research including characterization of peripheral blood markers for these disorders, and to facilitating psychiatrists providing the most cutting edge testing and treatment for patients with severe mental illness.
Activities related to Access to Care PMHI is dedicated to helping individuals get access to the most cutting-edge testing and treatment for mental illness. For qualified individuals, PMHI can subsidize the out-of-pocket expenses for testing and evaluation. PMHI may also subsidize the cost of more extensive testing, including exome sequencing and methylation studies.
